Miracles and Suffering In Mark

It is interesting to notice that Mark includes at least one miracle account in each chapter from chapter 1 through 11. The last part of this gospel is about the rejection, suffering, death, and resurrection of this ‘confirmed Messiah’. In spite of the signs that He did, he was rejected. Even though they often admitted that He DID such miracles, they rejected the conclusion that he was thus proven to be the Son of God. This should have been the conclusion as Peter stated:

Acts 2:22–23 - “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men."

The Hebrew writer stated: “Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him” (Heb. 5:8-9). Being the Son of God did not exempt Him from suffering. Becoming one ‘like as us’ entailed this righteous one to live in an unrighteous world. He endured such indignation and reproach in order to save men, even those who were mistreating Him. Having suffered, God glorified Him and gave him all authority and a name above every name. Now, He has promised to save all those who lovingly trust Him enough to do His will. He became the source of eternal salvation unto all who obey Him. Does that include you?
