Continue To Sin - 1 Timothy 5:20
Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning. 1 Timothy 5:20
This seems to be a continued problem among disciples.
Sin was our problem as it separated us from God, enslaved us, and made us God’s enemy.
YET, in Jesus, God provided for our FORGIVENESS. – Col. 2:10-13;
SUCH came with some conditions! Such are not many nor burdensome: Believe ABOUT Jesus and TRUST IN Him: Confess that He IS the Christ, the Son of God; repent of our sins we have committed, and be baptized in His name for the forgiveness of sins.
Realizing the nature of sin and what it does, our conversion involves a dying to sin, a putting to death the old man, a putting off the old man, walking after the spirit and not the flesh,
Cp. Rom. 6:1-4, 11; Eph. 4:17-22; Romans 8; etc.
But, while pursuing such holiness, we yet find that we sin. God through Jesus has provided for such – repentance, confession of such. 1 John 2:1-2; 1 John 1:7.
Thus, among disciples we HELP one another by pointing this out to those who are living a life of continual unrepentant sin. This is to call such to repent and return, BUT it also is a guard for the rest of the disciples so they continue their pursuit of holiness.
