A clear Conscience -  2 Tim. 1.3

A clear Conscience -  2 Tim. 1.3

2 Timothy 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day,

Paul here affirms yet again his living with a clear conscience (see also Acts 23:1; 24:16; 2 Cor. 1:12).

YET, before his conversion he was WRONG. He was a denier of Jesus and a persecutor of the church. We see from this that one can have a clear conscience and yet be doing things that are sinful.

The goal of all instruction: “But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” (1 Timothy 1:5).

Here then is a short list of how to live with your conscience to have a pure conscience:

•        It takes STRIVING after – Acts 23:1!

•        It means NEVER to violate your conscience!

•        It means to Confess / Forsake known sins – 1 John 1:7-9

•        It includes Asking forgiveness and being reconciled to all involved - Matt 5:23-24; Matt. 18:

•        It makes needed restitution where possible - Num. 5: 6.7

Educate your conscience and then live by it.
