Jesus The Conqueror In Revelation
Jesus The Conqueror In Revelation
The theme of the book is vividly set forth in 17:14:"They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”".
What a consolation to the suffering Christian! Throughout the prophecies of this amazing book, Jesus is portrayed as the great Victor and Conqueror.
1:8 — 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”".
2:8 — 8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: ‘The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life.".
3:21 — 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.".
11:15 — 15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”".
12:9–12 — 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. 12Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”".
14:1 — 1 Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.".
15:2–4 — 2 And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. 3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! 4 Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”".
17:14 — 14 They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”".
19:16 — 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.".
20:4 — 4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.".
22:3 — 3 No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him.".
In the book Jesus overcomes Hades, death, the beasts, the dragon and those who worship the beast. As the Christ is victorious, so are his followers. We are MORE than conquerors through Him that loved us (Rom. 8:31). The promised blessings to the seven churches was to 'those who overcome', and that can ONLY be done when we are faithful to Jesus.
