He DIED for Me - I LIVE for Him
“19 "For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. 20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. 21 "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly." “(Galatians 2:19-21)
Such is the ‘simple’ summary of the life of a disciple! God, in His wisdom, instructed us to teach and admonish each other in our singing. Such ‘one another’ goals will ALSO remind and strengthen ME in such singing. So, whether alone or together, let us sing about Jesus and what He has done! Is anyone happy – let him sing (James 5:13); if persecuted – let him sing (Acts 16:25). Get a hymn book and sing until you have memorized the great teachings that are contained in such hymns. Be selective – be diligent – be repetitive. Through such hymns we can ‘receive with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save our souls’ (James 1 ). Through such singing we can facilitate the ‘word of Christ dwelling in us’ (Col. 3:17).
