Stand Firm In The Lord - Philippians 4

Stand Firm In The Lord - Philippians 4

“Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved” (Philippians 4:1).

Paul continues this chapter by telling us HOW we can stand firm.

·        Rejoice in the LORD Always (vs. 4)

·        Have and display a gentle spirit towards all men (vs. 5)

·        Let prayer replace anxiety in your life (vs. 6)

·        Let your thinking be upon that which is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, of excellence, things worthy of praise (vs. 8)

·        Put into continual practice these very principles – and the God of peace will be with you.

I am impressed that the constant emphasis is upon my character. As you awoke this morning, what was on your mind (i.e., what were you ‘dwelling on’)? What plans have you made to put into practice today what the Lord has commanded? What problem have you prayed about? What blessing from God has brought joy into your heart? This lifestyle doesn’t just happen, it is the result of purposeful living with God. Are you standing firm in the Lord?
