Equipped For Every Good Thing - Hebrews 13

Equipped For Every Good Thing - Hebrews 13

As we conclude our reading of the Hebrew letter, he ends with this admonition and prayer:

20 Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, 21 equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. 22 But I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly” (Hebrews 13:20-22).

He has provided such letters as this for our instruction and encouragement. He has provided spiritual leadership to help guide us in the paths of righteousness (13:6, 17, 24). He has provided for our family relationships to love and provide for us (13:4). He has provided US for each other (13:1-3).

We have been reminded of what God DID for us in the death, burial, resurrection, and glorification of Jesus. We have been promised what God will do for us through Jesus. But, we have also been instructed on how we should now be living in response to God’s great display of love for us.

Let us not become dull of hearing, but rather let us “24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
