Eating Pig Slop - Luke 16

Eating Pig Slop - Luke 16

When pig slop looks good to eat, you have made some bad choices. Having carried (and smelled) the slop bucket, I am always amazed that the prodigal son found it tempting to eat. It is, if you are a pig! God created us for better things.

When this young man focused on himself and pleasure, it brought him to this low point of life. There was no need to eat pig slop, but the choices he made reduced him to this. Choices do have consequences, and bad choices have bad consequences.

The difference between this young man and many people is that, while he came 'to himself',' they feast upon the pig slop of this world. That which a godly man finds repugnant, is considered a delicacy by the world. You can serve it on fine china or you can garnish it to look pretty, yet it is still slop.

God's limits and instructions are not meant to deprive us but to keep us from such pig slop. Have you come to yourself concerning your relationship with God?
