Simply been baptized - Acts 8
The conversion stories in Acts are the example narratives of how the Apostles understood and obeyed the great commission given by Jesus.

Philip proclaimed Christ to them (5) and preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ (12).
The people, hearing this message, believed (12, 13).
Those who believed were baptized WHEN they believed (12, 13).
They were baptized ‘in the name of the Lord Jesus’ (8:16).
Putting all of that together, Luke records that they thus ‘had received the word of God’ (vs. 14). Acts 2, when Peter commanded those who were pricked in their heart at the message of the resurrection of Jesus to repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, it says that ‘as many as received the word were baptized’ (2:41). Here in Acts 8, having believed and been baptized, they also were said to have received the word of God.
Yes, it is simple when one believes what God has revealed. Many of us simply were baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins when we believed and repented. Have you received the word by believing and being baptized?
