Proud or Humble - Luke 14
Upon seeing men seeking the seats of honor for themselves, Jesus said: “For everyone that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted” (Luke 14:11). Jesus repeats this in a different circumstance in Luke 18 (the Pharisee and the tax-collector). Then, concerning the pride of the Pharisees, Jesus again states: “Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.” (Matthew 23:12).
Such concept in fact has been stated many times in the Bible.

Isaiah 57:15 15 For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.

Jude 1:10 10 But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.
And finally, Paul wrote: “For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith” (Romans 12:3)
