Reading 2 Peter 1

Reading 2 Peter 1

While reading, I often try to outline the thought development of the text. I find that it requires me to grasp the thought (it is difficult to summarize if you don't!) and helps me see the connections of the various texts. Here is my take on 2Peter 1.

Introduction:

The great blessing -

Given all things that pertain to life and godliness 3

Given exceedingly great and precious promises - 4

           BY WHICH - through these

           Partake of the Divine Nature

The great responsibility --

           Make every effort - 5

Character - 7 character traits of God's people.

faith, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection, love

All the more diligent - 10

The great testimony --

           Peter's eyewitness testimony -

The glory of Jesus revealed -

The great revelation --

The prophetic word more fully confirmed -

           Its SOURCE - 20-21

                     'comes' -

                     produced by --

spoke from God - carried along by the Holy Spirit

           Pay Attention - 19

How would you outline this?
