Saved By This Will - Hebrews 10:10

Saved By This Will - Hebrews 10:10

Hebrews 10:10-13: “10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; 12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.”

This sacrifice of Jesus is the “blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:28). By this sacrifice He took “away the first in order to establish the second.” (Hebrews 10:9) Thus there was ‘change of the law’ (Heb. 7:12).

We now are saved, sanctified, redeemed, forgiven, and justified not by the 1st covenant but by the SECOND Covenant: “By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Heb. 10:10 [emphasis mine – HD]. We that are saved are in a covenant relationship with God! We became not only children of God but slaves unto righteousness, or as Paul stated: “22 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.” (Romans 6:22).

In such covenant relationship, we joyfully serve, keeping all the teachings of Jesus (Matt. 28:18-20) and have promised to be ‘faithful unto death’ (Rev. 2:10).
