Jesus the Christ the promised Messiah

Jesus the Christ the promised Messiah

Jesus was proven to be the Messiah, the promised savior but there were evidences of such that simply were beyond His control. This list is not exhaustive of such events, but they so show that being the ‘Christ’ was NOT an invention of the imagination of Jesus. These things mentioned in Luke 2 are part of such. What was said at this birth and his earliest childhood:

·        Events and Saying that Jesus did NOT arrange

·        Born of the house and family of David - 4

·        Birth in Bethlehem instead of Nazareth – 4-7

·        Shepherds – both the angel’s appearance and their 8ff

·        Name – Jehovah Saves / Jesus

·        Circumcision – 21 /Purification – 22

·        Statement of Simon – 28-32, 34-35

·        Anna the prophetess – 38

Then, notice what was said about Him from the beginning, things that were not because of anything he had said or done.

·        He was BORN the Savior, the Christ, the Lord – 11 [The angels’ proclamation which was later repeated by the Shepherds in verse 17]

·        He was The Lord’s salvation – 30.

·        He was the light of revelation to the Gentiles – 32

·        He was appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel - 34

·        Such was ‘a sign to be opposed’ - 34

·        A sword would pierce even the soul/heart of his mother - 35

This will all be unfolded to us as we read the rest of Luke’s story. Such should fill us with excitement, awe, and faith. Imagine if you could have witnessed each of this in person! Well, now we have the testimony of those who DID. From such we can confidently affirm: I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.
