Luke 13 - Repent or ELSE

Luke 13 - Repent or ELSE

Having warned people to fear God, Jesus now instructs people to repent – TWICE (vs. 3 and 5). A quick search reveals that repentance was preached by all of the main characters in the New Testament: A sampling of such would include:

This was the message of John the Baptist:  Matt. 3:2, 8.

This was the message of Peter:  Acts 2:38; 3:19; 8:22; 2 Pet. 3:9

This was the message of Paul: Acts 17:30; 20:21; 26:20; 2 Cor. 7:10

This was the message to the churches of Asia: Rev. 2:5, 16, 21, 22; 3:3, 19.

This IS the message of JESUS! Matt. 4:17; 11:20, 21, 41.

This is the message to all who have sinned against God!  As John the Baptist instructed: “"Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance;” (Matthew 3:8). And Paul “… kept declaring both to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.” (Acts 26:20).

Returning to God and coming to Jesus requires us to change how we are living! Are you listening?
