Song of Moses and The Lamb - Rev 15
Song of Moses and The Lamb - Rev 15
The chorus of an often sung hymn (On Jordan’s Stormy Banks):
We will rest in the fair and happy land, by and by,
Just across on the ever green shore,
Sing the song of Moses and the Lamb, by and by,
And dwell with Jesus ever more.
This concept is found here in Revelation 15 where the saints who were victorious over the beast are singing ‘the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb”. The words revealing what they were singing:
"Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations! "Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For all the nations will come and worship before You, For Your righteous acts have been revealed."
Moses led the children of Israel out of bondage and Jesus now leads the children of God out of the bondage of sin and death. The bondage of fear of physical death is overcome in the resurrection of the body at the 2nd coming, but the fear of spiritual death is overcome in our resurrection to new live when we are baptized. We are FREE from not only the condemnation of such, we are freed from the bondage, freed to walk in newness of life.
Such walk is a walk of trust in Jesus, a walk of faithfully following HIS instructions. Our confidence in overcoming is through the forgiveness that He provides as our High Priest and Mediator. The promise is stated: “9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 7:9).
Jesus is faithful – are YOU being faithful to Him?
