Paul’s Concluding Thoughts - Romans 11:32-36
Romans 11:32-36 32 For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!
34 For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?
35 Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to him again?
36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
This finishes the first main part of Romans, In chapters 12-16 we will now read Paul’s instructions on how to live as a faithful follower of Jesus. Here is a quick review of what we have seen.
A Walk Through Romans chapters 1 through 11:
1 – the power of God to save – the Gentiles (ME…) have sinned – and need this forgiveness
2 – God is without partiality – 1- 13 THEN transition – 11-16, JEWS? – sinned vs. 17 – 3:20
3 – Justification – thru forgiveness – 3:21-31
4 – Abraham’s children – walk in HIS STEPS – the life of TRUST –
5 – Glorify GOD in tribulation (1-11) – Adam / Jesus – (12-21)
6 – We are dead to sin – a slave unto righteousness, what happens at ‘conversion’ – born again?
7 - Disciples are free from the law (marriage illustration 1-13) – the necessity of – (14-25)
8 – Living for flesh or spirit? (1-25) - New CREATION – God’s purpose (26-39).
9-11 The Jewish Problem [what is the position of physical Israelites now].
So, reread the conclusion above (taken from 11:32-36). It REALLY helps your understanding when you have a ‘working outline’ in your head of what is being covered in the passages you read. It is good for you to always take the time to make your own outline (short and direct point like the one above). Then – read, read the whole book in one setting, read it again, take a section and read it multiple times. Repeat. This will implant the word in your heart.
